Carol A. Simpson, 85, of Largo, Florida and formerly of Temperance, Michigan, passed away Friday, May 6, 2022. Born August 23, 1936, in Toledo, Ohio, she was the daughter of Harold and Loretta (Kieswetter) Schreiner. Carol was a 1954 graduate of St. Ursula Academy. She was the owner and operator of the former Modern Motel in Temperance, Michigan for 40 years. Prior, she was employed as a secretary at the Dana Corporation. Carol owned, operated and enjoyed ceramics, owning Carol's Ceramics for several years. She was very proud of all her children. She especially loved being with her family in the football stands, cheering on her sons at Ohio State and Michigan State. Over the years Carol enjoyed camping, dancing, celebration with family and friends, her dogs and finding any excuse to go party it up on Put-n-Bay. After her move to Florida, you could find her sipping Pina coladas at her favorite beach bar and visiting all of her friends in her neighborhood. She was also known for zipping through her park on her golf cart, wind in her hair, with her fur baby and partner in crime, Daisy, by her side.
Carol is survived by her loving children, Sandra (Mark) Wisner, Michelle (Robert) Simon, Stacey (Drew) Welton, David (Betsy) Simpson and Maribeth (Mark) Wetzel; brothers, Rick Schreiner and Mike (Sheree) Schreiner; sisters, Sue (Ron) Murphy and Joan Leitner; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by sons, Keith and Steve Simpson; and grandson, Derek Simon.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Wednesday, May 25, 2022, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd. (at Jackman), Temperance, MI. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 8330 Lewis Avenue, Temperance, Michigan, where she will lie in state after 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Being visually impaired, Carol was a great supporter of Southeastern Guide Dogs. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made: Southeastern Guide Dogs. https://www.guidedogs.org/
