Ceara Sue (Burman) Withrow

Sue (Burman) Withrow passed away the morning of May 6, 2017 with loved ones at her bedside.

Sue was born April 23, 1941 at home in Arcadia, Ohio to Garnet (Wagner) and Woodrow Wilson Withrow. She graduated from Arcadia High School, and received her BA from Heidelberg College and an MA from the University of Toledo.

Sue, a fluent Spanish speaker, enjoyed everything about her work, whether in public education, administering a federal English as a Second Language program, teaching college students, tutoring or managing a foreign exchange students program for an international organization Youth For Understanding.

Always involved in the international arena, Sue also planned and directed international travel programs for individuals, as well as traveling to more than 20 countries herself. Sue founded a successful full service translation/interpretation business, Internal Language Source, Inc. where she was CEO for over 25 years.

During her retirement Sue continued traveling both internationally and domestically. A voracious reader she was always eager to discuss her readings with her friends. She had an appreciation of art and was a mentor to various artists. Sue was a good golfer who played in several leagues.

Sue is survived by her loving friend Dale Vollmar, sisters, Thora Gilligan and Marlene Freed, nephews, Dan Brooks, Mark Freed, Todd Gilligan, and Jay Gilligan, many longtime friends and her little Westie, Chica.

There will be a celebration of Sue's life with an opportunity to share memories and a luncheon buffet at Brandywine Country Club, 6904 Salisbury Rd., Maumee, Ohio, on June 24, 2017 between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
