Charles Floyd Obituary

FLOYD Charles Lamar "Charlie" Floyd died Tuesday, September 25, 2007, at Haven Hospice in Chiefland, Florida. He was born August 13, 1927, in Webberville, Michigan. Charlie graduated from high school early and enlisted in the Navy during WWII and served as a pharmaceutical aid at the US Naval Hospital in Maire Island, California. He was honorably discharged as a petty officer 3rd class in 1946. Mr. Floyd worked in the financial industry until settling in Toledo, Ohio where he eventually became owner of Grogan Chrysler Plymouth now called Grogan Towne Chrysler Inc. He also owned Charlie's Dodge in Maumee, Ohio and Charlie's Dodge in Ft. Pierce, Florida. Mr. Floyd built and owned a Holiday Inn Express on the Ft. Pierce Inlet which is now called the Sandhurst Hotel. He was a member of the Elks. Mr. Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Eleanor Floyd of Alachua, Florida; two daughters, Karen Elden of Port Charlotte, FL, Marla Steele of Alachua, FL, one son, Mark Floyd of Ft. Pierce, FL; five grand-children, Jason Elden, Stasia Steele, Marisa Floyd, Tavia Steele, Ryan Floyd; one brother, Ron Floyd. A memorial for Mr. Floyd will be announced at a later date. Please make all donations to Hospice of Florida.

Mrs Floyd,
So sorry to hear about Mr Floyd's passing. My condolences to you and your family. I worked for him and Mr. Grogan in the 1970's.
