Charles “Mac”
Charles “Mac” Marr age 89, of Brooklyn, MI, passed away, September 18, 2016, at home. He was born December 30, 1926, in Cambridge Twp., MI, the son of Charles Henry and Myrtle Marr. Mac was a graduate of the University of Toledo and then went on to graduate from Wayne State University, School of Law. He then practiced law in Lenawee County. Mac was a Lieutenant Commander in the Coast Guard Reserves. He was very active in several service entities such as, GAF in Toldeo, Kiwanis, Civitan, Elks, Eagles and the Morenci American Legion.
Mac is survived by his wife of almost fifty years, Irene; his brother, Sam Mihailoff of Toledo; the mother of his son, Dorothy Wise; his son, Mac Marr; stepson, Gary Witt and his wife, Cynthia and two grandchildren, Matthew Marr and Christina Witt. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Marr and Myrtle Mihailof; stepfather, Sava Mihailoff; his sister, Phyllis and two brothers, Ronald and Nick.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 24, 2016, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Hwy, Adrian, MI. Burial will follow in Maple Shade Cemetery, Onsted, MI, with Military Honors performed by the Michigan Army National Guard. Visitation will be on Friday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and also on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at the J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, Adrian, MI. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Lenawee.
