Chrissie Danzeisen Obituary

DANZEISEN
Chrissie Mary
Chrissie M. Danzeisen, 85, of Sylvania, Ohio peacefully passed away on December 7, 2016. She was born in Trenton, Michigan on June 17, 1931, to John and Catherine (Macauley) MacDonald.
As a young child, Chrissie was instilled with a strong passion for education. Her parents, Scottish immigrants, stressed the importance of the power of education and thus Chrissie went on to achieve a B.A. at Eastern Michigan University and a Masters from the University of Michigan. She taught school for 8 years. When her family came she devoted her time to raising them. With her husband, Milo, she spent countless hours at baseball and basketball games, soccer matches and dance performances. In their retirement years, Chrissie and Milo traveled the world, going on 19 cruises and most of the major European cities.
Chrissie was an avid letter and card writer and served as Secretary for the Toledo Women's Club. She easily wrote over 50,000 cards and letters in her lifetime. Up until her death she could still write with a beautiful cursive script that made her notes a joy to receive. Along with writing, Chrissie loved books and bridge. She could either be found reading the latest spy or mystery novel or playing bridge with her dear friends. In addition, Chrissie enjoyed hosting parties of all kinds, especially Christmas ones.
Chrissie is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Milo L. Danzeisen, DDS; sons, David (Kathryn), John, and Kevin (Wendi); daughter, Julie (Mark) Hankenhof. Chrissie has been blessed with 7 grandchildren, Gabrielle, Sophia, Logan, Annalise, Lexi, Chrissie and Ian. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Chrissie was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Catherine Danzeisen; and her brothers, Alec and Ian MacDonald.
Family and friends may visit on Monday, December 12, 2016 from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Avenue. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday at Olivet Lutheran Church, 5840 Monroe St. with visitation 1 hour prior. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park. Donations in her honor can be given to Olivet Lutheran Church, Sylvania Area Family Services, or the Toledo Women's Club.
When asked how she wanted to be remembered, Chrissie said, “For all the love and kindness she gave to her family, friends, and all the people who came in and out of her life,” - a true testament to a life well-lived.

I didn't know Chrissie, but she must have been a wonderful woman who raised wonderful children. My primary care doctor is David Danzeisen. I had an annual exam appointment on Monday December 19th and I knew he had been away, so I assumed he was on a vacation. That's when Dr. Danzeisen told me he had been off for 3 weeks and his mother had passed away. That was a shock to hear and it sadden me. I knew David was from Toledo because he mentioned it once. My wife Shirley Biscotti (formerly Shirley Whitaker) is also from Toledo. I appreciate all the care that Dr. Danzeisen has given me for the past almost 10 years since I moved to Fairfield, CA. I don't feel comfortable calling him David because he deserves the respect that a doctor should have.

I did not Know Mrs. Danzeisen, but I think I saw her voting at Whiteford Elementary. I remember the volunteers saying "It's so nice that Mrs. Danzeisen was able to get out and vote. She brought a tear to my eye as they lowered the electronic voting monitor. I thought of those sitting on their couches not voting and wished they could witness such perseverance. She will be in my memory always.

Dear Milo,David,John,Kevin, and Julie,
I was saddened to hear of the loss of your wife and mom. As I read the obituary it reminded me of all of the good times my mom and I enjoyed with her. Chrissie was always a loyal friend to my mom, especially when she was going through her cancer treatments. They really enjoyed their bridge games, too. I remember the wonderful showers she hosted for my sisters and me. I also remember receiving lovely notes from her. She was a kind and caring person. She will be remembered fondly. Sincerely, Judy Dugan Ellis
