Christopher Ray Sr.

Christopher Ray Mendieta Sr., 55, died Monday, September 7, 2015. He was born April 20, 1960, in Bowling Green, Ohio to Antonio and Raquel (Lopez) Mendieta. He proudly served in the United States Army and worked for many years as a truck driver. Chris was a longtime member of St. Rose Catholic Church and the Fraternal Order of The Eagles. Chris loved to travel and was an active family man.

Chris is survived by his children, Max (Brandi) Mendieta, Elissa (William) Martinelli, Christopher R. Mendieta Jr., Renee Mendieta, Leticia Costilla; seven grandchildren; his father, and eight siblings. He was preceded in death by his mother and nephew.

A Memorial Service will be held at Witzler-Shank Funeral Home, 222 E. South Boundary Street, Perrysburg, Ohio (419-874-3133) on Friday, September 11, 2015, at 11 a.m. Burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the family. Online condolences can be made at:

I had the honor of going through basic training in the Army with Chris 38 years ago,he was just one of those guys that it was easy to be friends with. After the Army we ran into each other at Dixie Electric Company and it was a wonderful reunion, it was peace time service, but we were brothers in arms none the less. [email protected]

We will miss Chris greatly. Our Love and Prayers sent out to Mendieta family.
