Clyde Jordan Obituary

Clyde Ray Jordan

Clyde Ray Jordan, born October 24, 1933, left the land of the dying to join the land of the living on Saturday June 24, 2017. He was born in Big White Oak KY to Orville and Cora Triplett-Jordan, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, James, Eugene, Charles, Louise, Christine, Estill, and Everett. Clyde is survived by his wife, Norma Peace-Jordan; son Timothy R. Jordan (Pamela); daughter Debbie C. Jackson (Kyle); grandson Jeffrey P. Jordan (Kelly); granddaughter Katie L. Reiff (Travis); granddaughter Brittany C. Muir (Kyle); grandson Jordan K. Jackson; and 5 great grandchildren (Jackson, Aubree, Elliana, Ezra, and Amelia).

Clyde graduated from Magnetic Springs High School (Ohio) in 1952 where he was an accomplished athlete in baseball and basketball. He was also a talented boxer in the Golden Gloves youth boxing program. After graduating from high school, Clyde moved to Tucson AZ where he worked as a bank teller. After a time, he returned to Ohio and met his future bride Norma; got married; and eventually planted roots in Rossford Ohio where he and Norma started their family.

In his 20's, Clyde experienced a life-changing event when he accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. From that point forward, his life was focused on loving God and loving others. He was a man of integrity "walked the talk." His words and actions clearly demonstrated the "fruits of the Holy Spirit" – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Clyde was a long-time member of Hope Community Church of the Nazarene (formerly Oregon Church of the Nazarene) where he served in various capacities including Sunday School Superintendent, teacher, church board member, trustee, and small group leader. For many years, he was active in Gideon's International and served on the Board of Directors for WPOS/Proclaim FM radio, including terms as treasurer.

Clyde was a hard-working man who faithfully provided for his family. He worked nearly 40 years at the Libbey Owens Ford (LOF) automotive glass factory in Rossford Ohio where he retired in 1992.

Clyde had many interests including gardening, playing softball and basketball, table tennis, southern gospel music, the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns, and the Ohio State Buckeyes. However, what he enjoyed the most was spending time with his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He was a loving, kind, self-less, fun-loving, and nurturing father and grandfather. Clyde's love for Jesus Christ, for his family, and for others set a wonderful example for each of us. May each of us aspire to live as Clyde lived.

Visitation will be Wednesday June 28, 2017 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Eggleston Meinert and Pavley Funeral Home, 440 South Coy Road, Oregon Ohio. Dear Norma / Tim and Pam,
Clyde Ray Jordan was the most amazing person I have met. He was the epitome of the symbol of love, affection and care. His absence can never be fulfilled.
We will be highly indebted to him and the rest of the Jordan family members for the help and support that they have showered on our daughters. Clyde and Norma ensured that they never feel that they were away from home half way across the world.
We all will miss him greatly and his absence can never be fulfilled. We will always carry the fond and sweet memories of him in our heart at all times.
May his soul rest in peace.

Dear Norma, Tim & Family;

Another Saint has cast all the cares and weight of this world a side and has joined that great cloud of witnesses and is now cheering us on to finish our race. So let us run with patience the race that is set before us so we too can join that great cloud of witnesses. May all who come behind us find us as faithful as Mr. Clyde Jordan. A great friend, a great GOD loving and fearing Christian man who truly served and LOVED JESUS.
You are all in our thoughts and prayers, may God bless you and the entire family.

Blessings,
Larry & Sandi Korakas
