To the family of Darrell Johnston;

I work in the Meijer Gas Station in Oregon, and had the pleasure to have several in depth conversations with Darrell while he was there fixing something or another. Many times it seemed as though he was there under duress, however by the end of a good conversation, he would always leave a little lighter than he came in. Quite often he would share stories about his family, and how proud he was of his daughter, and how he truly loved his wife, and I always looked forward to the updates after not having seen him for a while. I am saddened that I will no longer have the opportunity to have these conversations with him, and saddened even more so that he will not be retiring from Meijer, and moving on to teach, as he so often voiced as a desire. I am heartsore as well, that a family who was so admired and loved by this man, has to deal with the pain of his loss.
My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to you.

Warm Summer Sun

Warm summer sun,
Shine kindly here,
Warm southern wind,
Blow softly here.
Green sod above,
Lie light, lie light.
Good night, dear heart,
Good night, good night.
