David Mounts Obituary
David "Dave" Mounts, age 74, of Toledo, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Wednesday, April 4, 2018. He was born on October 7, 1943 to Johnny Mounts and Sarah "Mickey" Williams in Toledo. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War after being drafted in college. For many years he worked for Roach-Reid Communications as a sales manager, retiring in 2014. Dave was a member of Ashland Avenue Baptist Church for over 50 years where he served as a deacon, trustee and often volunteered. He was a talented musician in his younger years and continued to have a deep interest and passion for music and especially contemporary jazz. Throughout his life he had a mechanical mind and was good with his hands; he enjoyed building model rockets and airplanes.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Heidi (Ullom) Mounts; daughters, Dawn Ahrens (Bill) and Carrie (Christopher) Gilmore; grandchildren, Kinsey, Kaitlyn, Lucas, Emily Rose, Elizabeth, Natalie, Shanesse, Christopher O., Giada and Marisa; mother, Sarah "Mickey" Williams; many other relatives including his brother and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews; best friends, Ken Shoaf and Jim Fletcher and feline friend, Rowdy. He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny and maternal grandparents.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 1-6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). His Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home 6:00 p.m.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Ashland Avenue Baptist Church.

To David's wife Heidi, Hi Hiedi, somehow Sue came across Mickey's obituary.She called me today to tell me that she had passed. Then to her and my astonishment, we found out that Dave passed in 2018. I am so sorry! We had no idea. I told Sue today that just a week ago, I was thinking of Mickey, and wondering how I could get a hold of Dave to find out how she was doing. Now I find that strange,, after finding out, what we know now.. Is your family still living Heidi? well now Sue and I do not have any cousins left! I guess we weren't very good cousins, living so far away. Had Dave been sick before he died? My Jim passed away in his sleep in 1997. It has been so many years now, but I remember it like it was recently. Well, we are sad at the loss if Dave and Mickey, and I am sure it has not been easy for you. I hope you get this message. Dear Heidi, Carrie, & Family,
Words can't express our sorrow for your loss. Know that you are and will remain in our prayers. I believe that faith can carry us through the most difficult times. I pray the coming days will bring to mind good memories as you celebrate Dave's life and the gift his presence has been to each of you. We love you dear cousin.
