David Lee Smith, age 73, of Fremont, Indiana, formerly of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on April 17, 2023, at Parkview Regional Medical Center, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Dave was a 1967 graduate of Northview High School and continued his education briefly at the University of Toledo. In his working years, Dave was an exterminator for Terminix and had over 19 years of service with the company, before his retirement in 2007. In his spare time, Dave loved spending time as a seasonal camper at Manapogo Park Campground. He took pride in mowing the lawns for the entire campground. When the work was done, he found relaxation by fishing, listening to music, and sitting around the campfire.

David Lee Smith was born on June 23, 1949, in Sylvania, Ohio, the son of Norman and Irene (McGee) Smith. David married his beloved wife, Linda (Fuelling) Smith, on September 23, 1967, and the two enjoyed 51 years of marriage, before her passing, on March 25, 2019.

Left to cherish his memory include his children, Jason Smith and Melissa (David) West; one granddaughter, Amelia West; and one special fur buddy, Gus. David is preceded in death by his wife, Linda; and his parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, Sylvania Avenue. A funeral will take place on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
