Deborah Quinn Obituary

Deborah Ann Quinn

Deborah Ann Quinn, age 69, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2021 after a valiant battle with Alzheimer's Disease, at Parkcliffe Memory Care Community. She was born July 1, 1951, in Toledo, Ohio to Edward (Dale) and Ruth (Berger) South. She was a 1969 graduate of Clay High School.

During her marriage to Patrick Quinn, deceased, their son, Jacob Ashley Quinn was born. He is her sole surviving son whom she adored. She worked for 33 years for Toledo Lucas County Department of Welfare in finance. She had a great love for nature and was often found tending her lovely garden revealing her adoring eccentric attitude. She searched for perfect plants to lure hummingbirds and butterflies into her view.

She found great pleasure entertaining God's little ones and serving others. She left beautiful hand crocheted bedspreads with us and the memory of delicious chocolate chip cookies always ready to pop in the oven as we walked through her door.

She is survived by her son, Jacob (Geraldine Salvador) Quinn; grandsons, Shion and Diego; her brother, Dan (Sharyl) South; and her sister, Linda Pietz (Mark Beggs); and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Family, friends and others whose lives Deborah touched are invited to reminisce, grieve, support each other and, of course just chat at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Avenue, Toledo, Ohio, on Saturday, February 27th beginning at 10:00 a.m. followed by her funeral service at 12:00 Noon. Family and guest attending the services are required to wear a facial covering and follow social distancing guidelines.

Deborah was a very sweet gal. I enjoyed her friendship at Epworth’s singles group and all of the events at the church . I’m saddened to hear that she passed so young. God be with the family at this time.

Deb and I worked together for 30 years. We became great friends and basically grew up together. We watched each other go through all of the ups and downs in life. All in all, we laughed a lot. She will be missed tremendously.

Steve worked with Deb at JFS, and we also were neighbors. She often
helped Judy with gardening. She was a pleasure to be as she was always happy. Thoughts and prayers.

Dear Deborah - You were indeed one of my most cherished friends during my life in toledo of 40 some years. We had so much fun playing tennis and swimming, common interests we both dearly loved. You were so full of joy and ready to give of yourself. You helped me to celebrate so many of life's special moments. My kids just loved it when you would come over to teach me to make candy. As the kids grew up, you and I began our trips to the zoo together. we must have gone a millioneth times and each time we would always found something to delight in. And Oh, the summer nights lounging to the sound of the music under the stars, eating popcorn and singing. Oh, I will miss you sorely, my friend ! Can't wait till I see you again. Get a card table ready and we will get a hot Bunco game goin again. It does bring me joy that you are finally at your resting place enjoying peace of mind in God's sweet presence. I love you ! Bernie
