Delbert Leon BRANDT

BRANDT Delbert Leon Delbert Leon Brandt, 84, of Liberty Center, OH, passed away on Wednesday, September 14, 2011, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg, surrounded by his loving family. Delbert was born in Freedom Township, OH, to the late Fremond and Minnie "Whilamina" Brandt. Surviving Delbert is his loving wife, Jo of 62 years. He is also survived by his son: Van (Sara); grandchild: Evan; sisters: Marcille Katon, Delores Atkinson; many nieces and nephews. Delbert graduated from Liberty Center High School in 1945. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served in the Pacific/South Pacific. Following his military commitment he went to Boston where he met and married Jo. He and Jo returned to Ohio where he found work at Hartley's and Johns Manville. He graduated from Defiance College with a Bachelors of Education. He returned to graduate school, where he received his Masters from Ohio Wesleyan College. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, White Pines Golf Course and the U.S. Golf Association. He enjoyed reading, golfing, bowling, and most of all his family. Friends may call at the Wright-Habegger Funeral Home, 302 E. Maple St., Liberty Center, OH, on Friday, September 16, 2011, from 3-7 pm. Services will be held on Saturday, September 17, at 10:30 am also at the Wright Habegger Funeral Home.
