Diane Kovach Obituary

Diane K. Kovach

Diane K. Kovach, age 78, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully on December 16, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

She was born to John and Elsie Kovach on October 2, 1946. She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, Class of 1964, and later received her Bachelor's Degree from Mary Manse College, in Education. She began teaching 2nd grade at St. Hedwig grade school, and also worked for the Toledo Public Schools. She taught Special Education at Spring, Chase, LaGrange, and Whittier schools, until the time of her retirement after 30 years.

Diane was a longtime member of St. Catherine of Siena Parish. She will always be remembered during family holidays for asking "what can I bring?" If you told her just to come, she always made something. She would say "you must need something," so she would make her Jello with marshmallow desert. She had a deep love for each of her dachshunds, Max, Rudy, and Ziggy.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Michael Kovach; and her twin sister, Ann Wales. She is survived by her brother-in-law, Randy Wales; niece, Rebecca Simonski; nephew, Michael Wales; and special cousin, Barbara Liwo.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4555 N. Haven Ave, Toledo, OH 43612, on Friday, December 20th, at 11:00 a.m., where the family will begin greeting guests at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be private.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to St. Catherine of Siena Church, or to the Toledo Area Humane Society. Please view and sign our online guest registry at
