Dick Kretz Obituary
Richard P. "Dick" Kretz passed away peacefully at his home in Toledo on March 22, 2023. He was 94.
A veteran of the United States Army between WWII and the Korean War, Dick was stationed at Walter Reed Army Hospital in Washington, D.C.
He began a career with Willys Overland in 1948, and worked for 37 years at Jeep in Toledo in various roles in the engineering department, retiring in 1985 as a Product Development Engineer. He was an active member of the Society of Designing Engineers and at one time was Chairman of the Toledo Chapter of its Resolutions Committee.
For many years Dick also owned and operated the Miracle Mile Laundromat and formed a close bond over the years with many of his regular customers.
In retirement, Dick enjoyed his biweekly golf group he for many years organized and kept records for, as well as in later years his weekly card games with his dear friends at the Sylvania Elks lodge. He loved cheering on his beloved Ohio State Buckeyes.
Surviving are his son, Rich; daughter-in-law, Laurie; grandchildren, Ainsley (Kyle), Shelby and Mackenzie Kretz, and Kylie Lange (Alex); and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Ginny, with whom he spent 69 wonderful years of marriage. In his words, they will now be "Together Forever."
There will be no visitation or memorial service. The family suggests those wishing to make a memorial contribution consider Flag City Honor Flight.

Dear Rich,
Bob and I are saddened to hear of your father's death. After your mother died, I had made a pledge to myself that I would call him from time to time but, regretfully I didn't keep. In that last years of your mother's life, we enjoyed meeting up with them at Jing Chuan on Secor Road. Your mother and I would often lament that we were the last of the Linckes. I am glad that we had those times and regret that there were many years prior to those get-togethers that we had lost touch.
