Dorothy Abair Obituary

Dorothy Abair

5/10/1935 - 7/10/2025

Dorothy (Bailey) Abair, age 90, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2025.

"Dot" or "Dotty-B" as some knew her, was born May 10, 1935, to the late Ralph and Winifred Bailey.

She was a graduate of Central Catholic High School, and attended the University of Toledo, before briefly working for the FBI in Washington, D.C.

On February 16, 1969, Dorothy married Raymond L. Abair, and resided in the Shoreland / Point Place area for 52 years.

She attended St. John the Baptist Church, was an avid power and sail boater, and worked part time as a Tax Prepayor because she said it kept her mind sharp.

Dot is survived by her son, Roger (Erica) Abair; and daughter, Jennifer Mattison. She has five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

She donated her body to UTMC, in the hopes of aiding future doctors.

No funeral of memorial services are planned immediately, but hopeful for near future.

We were childhood friends. We leaved right around the corner from each other. May she rest in peace. Betty

In loving memory of Aunt Dorothy. Her and Uncle Ray are together and probably sailing again on their boat. She was a very caring person and will always be missed.

Dot was a great friend, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. I will always remember her kindness and generosity. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by many. May she rest in eternal peace with God by her side.

I have fond memories of the days when I played bridge with Dorothy along with so many Point Place friends. May she rest in peace!
