Dorothy Pitchford Obituary

PITCHFORD Dorothy E. Dorothy E. Pitchford, 96, of South Toledo, passed away Monday, September 28, 2009, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was a 1931 graduate of Libbey High School and married her late husband, Harold on February 19, 1934. Dorothy worked for various companies including, Distinctive Costumes, David Garment Company and Standard Garment. She was a member of O.E.S. Triune Chapter #344 and St. Lucas Lutheran Church. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; son, Thomas and brother, Lester Kachenmeister. Surviving are her son, James (Joan Schimmel); daughter-in-law, Judy; grand-children, Debra Pitchford, Gary (Tina) Pitchford, Kevin Pitchford, Mike (Carol) Pitchford and Mark (Lisa) Pitchford; great-grandchildren, Cassie, Alexis, Alex, Aaron, Kevin, Braden, Tylor, Kersten and Gracee. Friends may call at the Walter Funeral Home, 4653 Glendale Ave., on Thursday, October 1, 2009 from 3 to 8 p.m. with O.E.S. services at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home. Special, special thank you must go to Kevin Pitchford for his kindness and caring in the time of need for his grandmother and best friend. Also a great thank you must go to Joan Schimmel, Tom Pitchford, Judy, Mike and Mark for their super help in a time of great need. Thank you, Jim.
