Douglas FARR Obituary

FARR Douglas Ray Douglas Ray Farr passed away on June 27th, 2010, surrounded by loving family after a year long battle with cancer. He was born in Maryville, TN, on March 24th, 1936, to Burl and Bonnie Farr. He loved in Toledo most of his years. Ray was employed as a machine operator at Libbey Glass and retired after 41 years of service. He was an avid car and gun enthusiast. He also served in the United States Air Force as an M.P. He was preceded in death by his parents, Burl and Bonnie Farr; his brother, Henry Blanton and Good "Friends", Harvey Lee Ward and Castle Bunch. He is survived by is loving wife of 51 years, Glenna M. Farr; daughters, Robin L. Vince (Robert), Tina A. Farr (Steve Nelson), Shelly R. Farr (David Buckenmeyer), all of Toledo, OH; brothers, Fred Farr and Robert Farr of Tennessee; sisters, Pat Hollifield and Debbie Rines of Tennessee; grandchildren, Brandy L. Vince (Buckwheat), Kevin R. McNally (Cubby), Courtney M. Hillard (Crunchy Mae) (Seth) and one special great-granddaughter, Jayla R. Vince (Boog). Ray had many friends both in Ohio and Tennessee. He had the gift of gab and was quite the jokester! He gave everyone quirky knick names and would help anyone he came across. He will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved him. Funeral Services at Sharp Funeral Home, 209 Roane St., Oliver Springs, TN (865-435-7261). Viewing Thursday 6-8 p.m. Services at 8 p.m. Graveside Service Friday at 1 p.m.

Was just thinking about calling Robin the other day to see how Ray was doing. But we had a death in our family also. Wish I would have gotten to call now. From Glenna on down to Jayla you guys know you are in our thoughts and prayers. Talk to you when you get home.

So sorry you guys. Just read Barbs post on facebook. David brother Terry died last week also. Ray quirky name for me was Holley 4 barrel will never forget that. From Glenna all the way down to Jayla you are all in our thoughts!!!!!

I was so saddened to hear of Ray's passing. My deceased husband, Bill Christopher and Ray were good friends as well as 1st cousins. Ray always a smile on his face. Easy going just like Uncle Burl. We pray for your loss knowing God will heal your heart.
