It’s hard to put into words all of the great memories I have of my grandpa. This man led an extraordinary life and was knowledgeable on a wide variety of topics. His precision, poise and love of life outdoors are just a few traits I have picked up from him. All the weekends and summers I spent with him over the years are some of my fondest memories. All the grapes we crushed to make wine, all the garage sales we stopped at to find baseball cards, and of course all of the wooden toys and furniture he has made for me will be the constant reminder that he was the best grandpa around. Everyone that has known him can agree with me that he was a genuine gentlemen as well as a stubborn bullhead. We will all miss him tremendously but all of our memories will keep us smiling for years to come.

My dear Uncle Ed was a special and important person to me and all our family. He always told the most wonderful stories, because he led a fascinating life. He was creative, talented and intelligent. I have more fond memories of him than I can list. I feel blessed to have shared time with him. I thank God for your life, Uncle Ed.

Edward Apel my uncle and godfather was a very loving and loved man. He will be sadly missed by all that knew him. I will never forget your grape vines you meticously tended to every year, the various wines you made and the carpenter projects you completed for me throughout the years like my red sandbox and red rocking chair; I enjoyed many hours of childhood enjoyment from them. I will never forget you!
