Edward Louis Holup, age 60, unexpectedly passed on to eternal life on September 1, 2016. In spite of his struggles, he was a terrific man with a gentle heart and is now at peace with his dad and God above.
Born May 22, 1956, in Toledo, to Edward S. and Letha A.(Knaggs) Holup, Ed was the oldest of seven children. He graduated in 1974 from Whiteford Agricultural High School and was employed at General Mills for 26 years. He pursued further education in electrical and mechanical engineering at Owens Technical Institute and was employed by First Solar for four years. Ed loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Favorite hobbies included fishing and playing his guitar. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing his meals with family and friends. His Catholic faith played a vital role throughout his life.
Ed was preceded in death by his father, Edward Stephen Holup and grandparents. He is survived by his mother, Letha; brothers, Daniel, Michael (Natalie), Andrew (Loel); sisters, Jeanne, Diane Rohdy, Theresa; daughters, Stacy (Steve) Elliott, Sarah, Rachel, Maria; grandchildren, Lauren, Landon, Liam; as well as his former wife, Julia.
Visitation was held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church on September 6, 2016. Interment was in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Resurrection Cemetery. Donations can be made to NAMI (National Alliance for the Mentally Ill) or to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish. Arrangements entrusted to Urbanski's Bedford Funeral Chapel, 8300 Lewis Ave., Temperance, MI.
