Elida "Allie" was my welcoming committee to the neighborhood. She was such a special person and I WILL NEVER forget her. I seen her when she was happy and sad but, a smile always lended up on her face no matter what. I will always remember her especially when we are burning a fire. May her soul rest in peace.
Luv Ya always

Ann, Anita, and family,
There are no words that I can say that will ease your loss and hurt. I truly wish I could take it all away. In time you will heal, your lives will go on, and though your mother is no longer a part of this world, she will always be present in your hearts. I did not know your mother personally, but I, like so many others, am eternally indebted to her. For without her there would be no you, and I would not have had the privilege and honor of your friendship. So to Elida Barrera, I say thank you and God bless you.
To my three hearts, Ann,Anita, and Cherie
You are my pride, my joy, and lasting legacy
Though absent from this world, I will always be with you
As you are with me, like the morning dew.
Rest well dear lady, may your sleep be sweet
No more hurt, no more pain, just a peaceful retreat
You are greatly missed, and forever we adore
Never to be forgotten, now and forevermore

Ann, Anita & Cherie,
My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time my you cherish the fond memories you have of your mom.
You probably don't remember me but me and my sister Debbie Hill use to babysit you girls. We meet your mom when we were just teenagers & our friendship continued as we became adults and had children of our own.
She was a wonderful person and she will be missed.

Ann & Anita,
I did not have the pleasure of meeting your Mom, but having the blessing of getting to know both of you, I am sure you didn't fall too far from the Tree. Family & friends are so important to us all, I hope you will find comfort and peace in knowing we are all here according to God's plan. Your Mom will be missed but trust she is always with you. Rejoice in knowing she is with her maker, and serving as another angel to help us all. God Bless you.

When is it time to say goodbye, To all the love I've known, When is it time to end your pain, And leave me all alone?
I've watched you on your good days when I feel your strength renewed; But shortly after little ups, The down days then ensue.
We ride this roller-coaster of Emotions as we try, To make it through another day, And yet, I can't deny...
That is I look into your face On days that have been bad, I see a look that beckons me It's tired, and hurt, and sad.
The little spark I used to see Behind those eyes, Is growing ever clouded By life's cruel inhumane side.
I try to see beyond the pain You feel with every step; And softly whisper to myself This may get better yet.
If I can bear to watch you Just another day or two; I justify my reasons to Ensure I cling to you.
For letting go is harder for The person Left BEHIND; It means that if I LET YOU GO, I cannot Turn back time.
Back to the days I long for now, When you were full of life; And every day held promise, And our futures, clear and bright.
But now the lights are darkening... We take it daily now; I cannot see our futures clear Or think beyond this cloud.
I think the hardest part in this Is never knowing why, I have to be courageous And I Have to say GOODBYE.
For if I let myself admit It's time to let you go; I'd have to face reality
WITHOUT YOU...But I know That soon I have to face the Final outcome that I dread, And holding on will only serve To hurt you in the end.
You've given such unselfish love For all our time in life,But if I hold too tightly, You'll not move t'ward the light...
On to a better life, where you Can once again be free, Of all the pain and discomfort That holds you here to me.
So if I find the courage just to say This last farewell, I hope you will forgive me for The time it took me; still...
I'll hold with me, the memories That in my heart remain, Pray one day, down the road a'ways
...They'll lesson my own pain.
Luv always and forever your BABE TINA and BRITTNEY xoxoxoxoxoxo

Ann and Anita, I am so terribly sorry to hear about your Mom.
Even though I only talked to her a handful of times, I feel blessed to have had the opportunity to know someone like her. She never failed to make me laugh and was such a delightful, warm, genuine and fun person to be around.
Tonight I saw Serita offering to get everyone something to drink. She was just happy to help in any way a little girl could during a time like this. As she made her way across the room to get someone a cola, I remarked that her walk was just so "bouncy and happy". Someone replied, "Yes. Just like her Grandmother."
God Bless you all.

It hurt me very much about Elida passing away, the last time that I talked to her was in the fall of 2005, at Walgreen Woodville Rd. We talked, she had so much to say. I told her we were moving to Texas and we did and we are far away to come and visit you girls. But I tell you,you are in my thoughts and prayers, you her daughters: Ann, Anita and Cherri and the rest of the family

I wanted you to know that we are sorry to hear about your mom. She was always full of joy and I remember when your family would visit Carrizo Springs and she was always in a good spirit. We are your cousins, you may have been too young to remember us but we are Emma Diaz daughter's: Lupe, Theresa & Cecilia. You are all in our prayers and thoughts. She will be greatly missed.
In My Pocket
I have memories in my pocket.
They rattle among the change.
My memories of you are treasures I carry wherever I go.
They are stored in bits and pieces, parts of a beautiful whole
They give me comfort when I think I am alone.
Yes, I have memories in my pocket, like so much other stuff I keep there.
But of all the treasures I have, it’s the memories of you that are the most precious.

While on earth death is inexplicable, tragic and full of sorrow- but we must always remember that GOD is in constant need of great angels to protect us all in these times of need. Only time will heal the pain of loss, but rest assured that eventually you will know that Elida has risen to a better place and will watch over her loved ones forever. Our warmest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Elida Barrera.

I know you are resting in God's arms now, you are at peace. You always seemed excited to see me even though it wasn't very often, your smile was so genuine. I'm glad you got to see my daughter this summer, she is lucky to have met such a loving person as you were. You will be missed but I know your Spirit and Love are still with those you loved. Go rest now, painlessly and peacefully.
Love,

a poem for ann,anita,and cheri
a precious one from us has gone,
a voice we love is stilled,
a place is vacant in our home,
which never can be filled.
and after a lonely heartache,
and many a silent tear,
but always a beautiful memory
of one we love so dear.

To friends and family of Elida,
I am so deeply sorry for your loss. I know how hard it must be. Elida was one of the most colorful people in my life and I will miss her so much as will my children.
Elida started cleaning for me about 2 years ago. She came when I was unable to clean for myself because I was so far along in my pregnancy and getting sick with preeclampsia. I loved coming home and reading the notes she would leave me after she would clean the house.
Elida was not there just to clean, she took care of us like we were family. Many times we would clean side-by-side. She always got such a kick out of my children and I really appreciated that.
We all love Elida so much and know that she is looking down on all of us.
Elida-We will miss you from the bottom of our hearts. Rest and be peaceful always, you deserve it!
Love,
Jamie Youssef, Akrum Youssef, Lyla, Toufik, Salma, and Kadin
