Frances Huffman Obituary

Frances Beatrice Huffman

Frances Beatrice Huffman, age 80, of Liberty Center, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home, with her family at her side, Friday evening, February 26, 2021. She was born February 22, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to Edward and Nettie (Piasecki) Richard. Frances was a 1959 graduate of Springfield High School, and soon after, married her high school sweetheart, Roger Huffman, on May 30, 1959. Roger preceded her in death on October 18, 2008.

Frances drove school bus for the Springfield Local School District. She was also a very talented cake decorator. Frances was a past member of the Crissey Fire Department #2 Ladies Auxiliary. She and her husband Roger lived in Monclova Township for over 30 years in a house he built for her. Then in 1988 they bought a house on the Maumee River, a promise he had made before they were married that some day they would own a house on the river they loved so much.

Together they loved boating and fishing, gardening and working in the yard. They also enjoyed the past 20 years together, wintering at their home in Ft. Myers, Florida. Towards the end of her life, Frances loved coloring "masterpieces" and proudly gave them to family.

After Roger passed away, she met up with long time family friend, Harold Freeworth. She and her buddy enjoyed each others company going for car rides and taking the scenic route. Somehow they always ended up at Hollywood Casino. They loved trying their luck at the casino's, buying and scratching lotto tickets, and strolling through flea markets and County Fairs.

Left to cherish Frances' memory are her daughters, Pam Raab and Cindy Drinkwater; son, Roger "RJ" Huffman, Jr.; grandchildren, Kristen (Jason) Scasny, Daniel (Laura) Wirick, Jessica Drinkwater, Becca Drinkwater, Amanda and Stephen Cirfus, Britten Huffman; 13 great-grandchildren; and best friend and companion, Harold Freeworth.

Besides her beloved husband of 50 years, Roger, Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Nettie; and her brother, Michael Richard.
