Frank Erme, age 87, of Toledo, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2016. Friends are welcome to the visitation on Saturday, February 20 from 10am to 12 Noon. Following will be a private funeral service at Newcomer Funeral Home 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo. Please visit:

We will miss him. A great gentleman, who had the gift of always making you feel welcomed and appreciated, whenever you met him. It always brought a smile to your face to see him.
He was a wonderful ambassador for Whitmer and much loved and appreciated by the Whitmer community.

Frank was a wonderful friend and neighbor. A true gentleman. He always had a warm smile.I remember when I first met Frank in 1978 as a freshman at Whitmer. I was scared of him because I had a crush on daughter Jane. Jane my condolence to you and Joe.

Coach Erme was my baseball coach while I was at Washington Jr. High in 1961 and at Whitmer in 1962. He was a great coach and a better man. Condolences to his immediate family and his Whitmer family.

Frank was loved by all of us students at Whitmer. His smile pulled you in and he gave us his time and advice. Through the years he attended most of our class reunions. When he walked through the door a loud cheer, "FRANK ERME", was shouted by all! Knowing Frank took the time out of his day to come see us made us love him all the more!
In the last few years we would see him at Elbow Room where he always took time away from his chili mac to say "HI".

I was his student in 1956 and my pleasure to know him since then. A wonderful teacher, coach, and administrator. He loved Whitmer and Washington Local and made them his life's work. It was my pleasure to know him and his family.

I so enjoyed working with you during parent club council and all the other countless projects together.
