Frederick Dohrmann Obituary

Frederick B. Dohrmann

Frederick B. Dohrmann, 76, of Oregon, Ohio, passed away on Friday, August 25, 2023 at St. Charles Hospital. He was born in Covington, KY on July 19, 1947 to Frederick and Marcella (Hemsath) Dohrmann. After graduating from Waite High School, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. While stationed in Minot, North Dakota, he met the love of his life, Linda (Salo) and they married on November 29, 1969, the start of what would be an epic 53 years of marriage. After retiring from the Air Force, Fred worked for Toledo Edison in the Underground Line Department, settling his family in Oregon. Fred enjoyed golfing and traveling with his wife, especially to the Caribbean, Australia and European River Cruises. One of his greatest joys was spending their 50th anniversary in St. Thomas, surrounded by his kids and grandkids. Fred liked having beers with his friends, cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes in football and the Kentucky Wildcats in basketball, but what he cherished most was being with his family. He was often known to call and text his friends, family, kids and grandkids while they were at work, at school, on vacation and possibly sleeping. We all loved it and rolled our eyes when "Fred", "Freddie", "Dad", or "Boppy" (what he was called by his grandkids) showed up on our phone.

Fred is survived by his wife of 53 years, Linda; son, Michael (Kathie) Dohrmann of Waterville, OH; daughter, Carly (Phil) Shellhammer of Springdale, AR; grandchildren, Audrey, Andrew, Jackson, Anthony, Eric and Hailie; siblings, Mary Gayle Taney, Carol (Tim) Lozny; and 3 nieces and one nephew, Gayle, Mindy, Maggie and Timmy. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Celebration of Life will take place on October 15, 2023 at the Chalet at Oak Shade Grove, 3624 Seaman Road. in Oregon, OH with lunch available from 1:00 p.m. -5:00 p.m. Expressions of sympathy in Fred's memory may be directed to the Greater Birmingham VFW Post 4906 at 2161 Consaul Street, Toledo OH 43605. Eggleston Meinert & Pavley Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Fred and I worked together for many years at TECO. Had some great laughs over the years. I'll miss seeing him at the Friday morning breakfast. God Bless and may he rest in peace.

Rest in peace my friend. We had some great times, especially at the annual golf tournament when you were our Captain. Also the great dinners with our rotating group of friends. You will be missed.
Your friend,
Bill
