Gene Arnold Obituary
Gene K. Arnold, age 73, formerly of Northwood, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, January 19, 2025, in Olean, New York. He was born on March 29, 1951, in Oregon, Ohio, to Eugene and Lois (Lay) Arnold. Gene was a graduate of Clay High School and served in the U.S. Air Force Reserves. He worked for Oregon City Schools as a custodian, mainly at Coy Elementary School, retiring in 2011.
Gene was a member of the Christ Dunberger American Legion Post 537 and part of their color guard. He enjoyed spending time at the Oregon Senior Center, and was a member of Intersection Church in Oregon, prior to moving to NY.
Gene is survived by his daughter, Erin (Jim) Lenchak; and his niece, Kimberly Turkington (PJ Kapfhammer). He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Sandra; brother, Jeff; and sister, Jackie.
Family and friends may visit Freck Funeral Chapel, 1155 S. Wynn Rd., in Oregon, on Saturday, February 1, 2025, from 10:00-12:00 p.m., where services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.

Erin, I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I just learned of it. Throughout the years a friendship thread was woven into our family's lives by knowing the Arnold family 1st generation by our parent's friendships. I met you when you purchased your 1st Jeep in Oregon. And, ironically, my mother was at the retirement villa in Genoa until Feb. 8, 2024. Your Dad always looked forward to your visits with him and would tell me how proud he was of you. You did a wonderful job caring for your dad in the remaining years. May he rest in peace and your heart be comforted. Loretta
