George T. Crews

With much sadness, George Taylor Crews passed away November 18, 2025, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg.

He was born February 27, 1938, to Gus and Lucille Crews. He has an older sister, Dorothy, who he shared a special bond. His community was Shakrag in Waynesboro, Tennessee. Fishing, trapping, whittling, he shared with his father.

He was captain of his football team, Wayne County Wildcats, # 48, winning many awards and letters, graduating in 1956.

Moving to Toledo, Ohio, with his first wife (Christine), and children, Jim, Debora, Keith.

He started working at Wonder Bread as a mixer. He was offered a job at Libbey Owens Ford in Rossford, Ohio, as a glass technician, retiring in 1991 after 31 years.

He worked at Lake Township Cemetery as a grounds keeper for 18 years, retiring in 2011.

George and Linda, his present wife, were married October 22, 1988, at Grace United Methodist Church in Walbridge, Ohio.

Adding to his family are three step-children, Dianna, Danny and Dawn.

Married to Linda for 37 years, they have ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and many family pets.
