George Nenno Obituary

George G. Nenno

July 10, 1949 - November 20, 2025

George G. Nenno, born July 10, 1949, entered into eternal life surrounded by faith and love. He was the son of Antoinette (Calipetro) and Warren Nenno, and the beloved brother of Theresa Declercq, who survives him. George was a proud uncle to Michael Declercq (Dana Downing) and Andrew Declercq (Nathan Garcia), nephews he admired deeply.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Stephanie (Lakatos) Nenno; and his sister-in-law, Julianne Lakatos-Billick; and brother-in-law, Paul Billick.

George was a proud graduate of St. Francis de Sales High School, Class of 1967, where he was in the marching, PEP and concert bands, and later earned his degree from Xavier University in Cincinnati in 1971. Throughout his life, he embraced a diverse and fulfilling career path. He spent several years serving as a baker for the Sisters of Notre Dame, a role he cherished for the camaraderie and purpose it brought him. His professional journey continued through a series of increasingly responsible positions, where his strong work ethic, reliability, and good humor made a lasting impression.

George was an accomplished musician, playing organ and piano at many churches and social events.

A devoted and prominent Catholic, George cherished his parish community deeply. His faith guided every chapter of his life, and he held a lifelong devotion to the priests and parishioners who shaped his spiritual journey.

Visitation will be held at Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43614, on Sunday, November 23rd, from 12:00–5:00 p.m. A Funeral Mass will begin on Monday, November 24th, at 10:00 a.m., at Gesu Catholic Church, 2049 Parkside Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43607. George leaves behind a final message to those he loved:

"Thanks for taking the time to visit, say a kind word, or offer a prayer for this old soul. And please-don't forget to say 'I love you' to someone close. It will mean the world to them.

Until we meet again…

Love you all."
