Gordon "Butch"

Gordon "Butch" Maynard, wonderful husband, great dad, good friend, brother and loyal comrade, passed away December 13, 2013, from a battle with lung cancer at the age of 57. Born July 31, 1956, to Gordon and Sophia Maynard of Point Place, he spent most of his days enjoying his family and long time friendships.

He loved golfing, woodworking, fishing and just being an all around good guy.

He had worked various jobs from asbestos removal, mail driver, janitor, store interior builder to lab tech at NorthStar BlueScope Steel. He always had something to say, either "hello" or "how is it going" to everyone who mattered.

He loved talking to people. Life and laughter were his second nature. His jokes or quick responses would always make you smile.

He was a very special person and will be missed deeply by all. Survived by wife, Patty; son, Greg (Kimmie) Maynard; daughter, (Deana) Lotozynski; brother, Jerry Maynard; sister, Linda Maynard; niece, Ashley (Eric) Ralph; niece, Alicia Maynard; nephew, Jared Maynard; cousins, Danny (Judy) Kaminski, and Joyce Kaminski. Wife's relatives too many to mention, and long time childhood friend, Gary (Donna) Case.

Visitation will be on Thursday, December 19, 2013, from 2 p.m.-8 p.m., with a Rosary receited at 6 p.m. at Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection will be Friday, December 20, 2013, at 10 a.m. at St. Adalbert Catholic Church, 3233 Lagrange Street.

Arrangements are entrusted to Blanchard-Strabler Funeral Home, 1163 W. Sylvania Ave. 419-269-1111.
