Gregory Laskey Obituary

Gregory A. Laskey

December 14, 1960 - May 23, 2022

Gregory A. Laskey, age 61, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away on Monday, May 23, 2022. Born December 14, 1960, in Toledo, Ohio, to John and Rallene Laskey, he graduated from St. John's Jesuit High School in 1978.

In high school, Greg wrestled, played on the golf team, and was often referred to future classmates as "Greg of '78 with the big afro." Within a few years after graduation, he moved south to Ft. Lauderdale with a few close friends.

While working at Publix Super Market, Greg met the mother of his three daughters, Tricia Golden. As he married and began his family, he also began a successful career at UPS that he recently retired from after 34 years. While at UPS, he began as a driver and worked his way up into management where he oversaw security, inside theft, and customer fraud. He was fearless, as he caught thieves "purple handed" with secret dye planted in unopened packages with fake jewelry or on outside sting operations with local police. He was an incredibly dedicated hard worker, and both co-workers and family could always rely on his support.

Greg's daughters and grandchildren were his life. He was a very supportive father to his three daughters and always pushed them to be the best they could be. He was the cheerleader at sporting events and the cheap entertainment at both birthdays and holidays. Although, anyone that knew him, lived in fear of his silly pranks. He had more costumes at his disposal than a Hollywood movie set. His cameo appearances included the Easter bunny, a long-haired hippie, native Indian, the Riddler, and the list goes on. In the end, his sinister laugh always gave him away.

Greg is survived by his children, Danielle (Jamie) Wallace, Stephanie (Rob) Hawkins, and Samantha (Geoff Heatherly) Laskey; grandchildren, Vail Hawkins, Lyndie Hawkins, Cameron Heatherly, and Wesley Wallace; father, John Laskey; siblings, Chris Foster, Steve (Jeanette) Laskey, Laurie Laskey, Gaylene Klotz, Michael Laskey, and Brett Laskey; uncle, David (Ofelia) Laskey. He is reunited in heaven with his mother, Rallene Laskey; and brother, Bill Laskey.

His memory will live on through stories from family and friends, as he will be forever loved and deeply missed by so many.

A memorial service for Gregory was held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at Aycock-Riverside Funeral and Cremation Center, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter, FL 33458.
