Harriett Myers Obituary

MYERS Harriett (Swope) Harriett (Swope) Myers, age 88, of West Park Place, passed away Saturday, January 20, 2007, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Perrysburg. Mrs. Myers was born near Jerry City, OH to Albert T. and Lottie M. Swope. She was a graduate of Cygnet High School and Tiffin Business University. She retired from Owens Corning in 1984, but continued working for the company part time for several years. Prior to that, she was employed by several companies. Harriett was active for many years in the Glass City Chapter, National Secretaries Association, serving three times as president of that organization. In retirement, she volunteered at the Sylvania Public Library and was docent at the Manor House in Wildwood Preserve. She was an active member of the Owens Corning 201 Club (retirees), planning trips and programs for the group. Harriett was fond of reading and traveling. For several years, she managed Crestview Apartment's Twice Around Shop. She is survived by her husband, Dale. Friends may visit the family on Monday from 2-7 p.m. at the Walker Funeral Home, 5155 Sylvania Ave. (west of Corey Rd.) where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday. Interment will follow in Portage Township Cemetery, Jerry City, Ohio. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or the charity of the donor's choice.
