Harry Edward Butler

Harry Edward Butler, age 89, of Wauseon and formerly of Maumee, passed away November 4, 2021, at The Lakes of Monclova. He was born July 24, 1932, in Monclova to the late Harry C. and Harriet M. (Davis) Butler in Monclova and served in the U.S. Army from 1949-52.

Harry retired in 1992 from Ameritech, formerly Ohio Bell, after more than 40 years. Harry was a member of the Maumee Senior Center, the Telephone Pioneers of America, Wauseon VFW, the American Legion in Toledo, and Northern Light Lodge #40 F&AM. Harry enjoyed working in his yard, tinkering in the garage, and spending time with his beloved wife and family. He will also be remembered for his strong and compassionate nature.

He is survived by his daughters, Lucinda (Lee) Flory and Laura (Rick Leggett) Taylor; grandchildren, Rebecca (Doug) Lane, Russell (Kari) Fellabaum, Mark (Amanda) Krueger and Jordan Taylor; great grandchildren, Kaylynn Krueger, Emily Taylor, Mack, Micah Rose, and Olly Marie Fellabaum, and Evelyn Lane; sisters, Gloria Hotz, Lois Myers, Barbara Grant, and Kay Floyd. Harry was also preceded in death by his wife, Barbara in 2010; and sisters, Vivian Weeks and June Meyers.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Thursday in the Maison-Dardenne-Walker Funeral Home, 501 Conant Street, Maumee, where Masonic memorial services will be held at 6:30 p.m. The funeral will begin at 10:00 a.m., Friday, November 12, 2021, in the funeral home. Military rites by the United States Army and interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Waterville.

I'm so sorry to hear about Harry. He was quite the gentleman, and among the list of all of his many accomplishments, he was also an excellent officer and proud union member with the Communication Workers of America, Local 4319 in Toledo.
