Helen Myrice Obituary
Helen (Lagos) Porentas Blake
Helen Myrice, 96, of Columbus and formerly of Toledo, passed away Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Arlington Court Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Columbus, Ohio. She was born September 27, 1917, in Detroit, MI to George and Pauline Lagos. During the 1960s up until the early 1990s, she owned and operated the Bee Gay Inn Tavern in East Toledo. She was an avid Bingo player and loved her dogs.
She is survived by her son, John Porentas; grandson, Robert Porentas; brother, George (Donna) Lagos and sister, Mary Mather. Helen was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Anna Coker, and husbands, John Porentas Sr., John Blake and Richard Myrice.
Family and friends may visit the Freck Funeral Chapel on Friday, June 20, 2014, from 11-1 p.m. where the Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Toledo Humane Society.

May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well lived. I was proud to share a birthday with Helen... and even happier that she was able to meet and hold my daughter. Such a wonderful woman will truly be missed. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
