Helen Spieker Obituary

Helen L. Spieker (Neff)

1934-2025

Helen was blessed with 91 yrs of life. She departed on October 9th, 2025, due to declining health.

She was the matriarch for 5 generations. Her journey on this earth was marked by her love for her family and her faith in God. Her passing has left a void in the hearts of her family, friends, and her care givers who took care of her.

Helen was a native born Toledoan. She attended Marybrook Academy for girls and recieved the Bishops Cross for Academic excellence. After working at Libbey Glass and at selling real estate for a short time, she then realized she had a passion to help people in need and became a nurse, working at Flower Hospital and then moving on to home health care. She worked as agency nurse well into her 60's. With her faith and love she continued caring for others well into her years until her illness.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Spieker; brother, William Neff; son, Joseph Wetzel; and granddaughter, Samantha Bails.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary Ruffing and Evelyn Shible; grandchildren, Kimmie Ruffing, Joseph Wetzel II (Abigail), Penelope McGowen, Nicole Miller (Steve); and 11 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.

A heartfelt thank you to all her caregivers at Wolf Creek Lutheran Home, and 360 Hospice aides and nurses.

Private graveside interment.
