Helen Zielinski

1914 - 2006

ZIELINSKI Helen E. (Szmania) Helen E. (Szmania) Zielinski, formerly of Broer Ave., passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. She was born in Toledo on June 17, 1914, to Vincent and Magadalene (Jacek) Szmania. Helen loved baking and cooking and was an excellent seamstress. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for Boss Glove, Toledo Glove and Advanced Glove for 15 years, as well as a seamstress for Perry Draperies. She enjoyed pinochle, bunco and bingo with her sister and friends at The Oblate Residence, Flair Dr., where she lived the past nine years. She was a member of the Retired and Seniors Volunteer Program and a longtime parishioner of St. Hyacinth Catholic Church. Helen was the widow of Edmund Zielinski. Surviving is her son, Paul (Mary Ellen) of Martinez, GA; granddaughters, Bobbi (Scott) McLure of Kennesaw, GA, Robin (Hilton "Trey") Johnson of Evans, GA; sister Stephanie Zarecki; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by 11 brothers and 5 sisters. Family and friends may visit Friday from 2-7 p.m. in the Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114-128 East Alexis Rd., where members of the St. Hyacinth Altar Rosary Society will lead a Rosary at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Saturday in St. Hyacinth Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to extend special thanks to Aunt Stef, for everything she's done, and to the caring, staff of Hospice of Northwest Ohio, especially Dr. Marsha Paul.
