Henrietta “Hank” Widanka, age 85, of Toledo passed away at Hospice of Northwest Ohio on Saturday, November 26, 2016. Henrietta was born January 11, 1931, to Walter and Sadie Molinski in Toledo. A lifelong Catholic with a special devotion to the Blessed Virgin, Hank was a member of St. Hedwig and Regina
Coeli Catholic Churches and considered herself part of Polish Village in north Toledo.
Hank married Joseph Widanka on May 25, 1949, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. In addition to raising their son, Gary, she worked as a unit secretary on the fifth floor of Riverside Hospital, retiring in 1997. In her spare time, she loved shopping, reading, old movies, shopping, all kinds of music, working in the kitchen, going out to eat, traveling, and worrying about the Michael's Arts and Crafts family. Those who knew her best will remember her as a loving, caring, fun-loving, and sharp-witted woman who always wore her heart on her sleeve.
Surviving are her loving son, Gary Widanka and sister, Eleanor Miller. Preceding Hank in death were her parents; her husband of 49 years, Joseph in 1998; brother, Walter
Molinski Jr.; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Ed and Barb Widanka and brother-in-law, Michael Miller.
Friends may visit Thursday, December 1, from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Urbanski Funeral Home, A Life Celebration Home, 5055 Secor Rd. (419) 475-5055, where a scripture will be held at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin Friday, December 2, at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home with the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park Sylvania, Ohio. Hank's family wishes to thank the ICU at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the loving care given to her.
