Jaclynn Krum-Frisch Obituary

Dr. Jaclynn "Jackie" Marie Krum-Frisch

10/14/1966 - 04/14/2025

Dr. Jaclynn "Jackie" Marie Krum-Frisch, 58, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away on April 14, 2025 at the Ebeid Hospice Center. A longtime Toledo resident, Jackie grew up in Toledo and returned after earning her bachelor's degrees at Malone University. She worked as a professional counselor for many years, specializing in working with children. This passion carried over to her work as a youth pastor, where she had the chance to impact hundreds of lives over several decades of ministry. Dedicating her life to the church, she was the first woman to receive a Doctor of Ministry degree from Winebrenner Theological Seminary. Complications from vascular Ehlers-Danlos syndrome led to her medical retirement, where she spent the rest of her days crafting and spending time with her loving husband. She is survived by Aaron, their many children and grandchildren, and siblings Debbie Streicher (Reggie), Judie Mowery (Gary), and Doug Krum (Lynn). There will be no services, and in lieu of flowers the family requests donations to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Hearts and Hands of Heroes.

I did not know Jackie, but her appearance on Extreme Makeover Home Edition was the reason I was able to get diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and through me, three of my friends, as well. I´ve wanted to thank her somehow for years. I´m sorry I´m too late. My heart goes out to all of you. She was a phenomenal person.

Frisch Family,

I´m thinking of you all during this time. Jackie was the nicest person I´ve ever met. She had a way of making you feel fully seen and fully known. She made you feel like you were the only person in the room. She´s a beautiful example of a Christian and someone I´ll always admire and aspire to be more like.

I met Jackie because of my sister, Stefanie. We attended Calvary Bible Chapel, and then Northpoint Church. Jackie taught us and showed us what it meant to truly have a relationship with God.

Jackie was a mom to many. She was there for us when our dad passed in 2006, and continued to be there as we navigated life - especially for Stef.

You always knew when Jackie was in a room - I remember the sound of her ankle bracelet she always wore that jingled as she walked (usually barefoot!) She had the best laugh, the most contagious smile, and the strongest hugs!!

I know she changed SO many people lives and will continue to even as she´s in heaven.

All my love,
Abby

"People can say, 'Why did you take so many kids in if you can't afford it?' Because we couldn't afford not to. Not having enough is not the same as not having anything. Big difference. And we will gladly go with not enough as long as the children don't have to go with nothing," she said.

A message from Jackie in an interview.

Jackie, you lived many more years than most. You just hated to stop for rest. You and Aaron sent Jesue Christ around the world , because the youth you served and matured in Christ went everywhere. You both have made the world of today and tomorrow, near or far, a safer and more hopeful place. Hugs, hugs and more hugs. I WILL MISS YOU.

Jackie was a very special lady. Let me share a memory of her that comes to my mind. She adored my son Corey whom she taught in Sunday School around 1991 at CBC. She told me that when she was studying in college, she would sometimes get overwhelmed or discouraged. She had a picture of Corey posted in her room and she would look at that picture. She said remembering him and how special he was in her life would give her that extra push that she so badly needed. I know that she was sick for a long time. It is so hard to say goodbye to such a kind and loving soul. I hope you find comfort in knowing that she is with Jesus and celebrating her home coming, all pain is gone. We loved her very much.

Jackie was like a daughter to me. We have so many memories of good times together. Throughout her childhood and college life and beyond. It is a blessing to have had her in my life and in my heart. God bless her family and friends and give them comfort and peace. No more suffering for her. She is with Jesus and those who have gone before. Love you Jackie.

Aaron, family and friends, I knew Jackie from church. And she was loving and patient and kind, always representing the love of Christ. She had a huge heart for the underdog and the less fortunate. She is a blessing to all who knew her. You will be missed.
