Jacqueline Freed Obituary

Jacqueline (Noss) Freed

March 5, 1935 - October 18, 2025

Jacqueline "Jackie" Freed, 90, was born to Jack and Muriel Noss on March 5, 1935, in Toledo, OH. She passed away on October 18, 2025, in Lakeland, FL. She attended Libby High School, where she was active in Y-Teens and president of various clubs. She is a graduate of the University of Toledo. Jackie was president of Alpha Chi Omega social fraternity. She met her husband, Charles, on a blind date in 1954, and they were married on August 3, 1957. Jackie loved her job of teaching, especially when she could see the light bulb go off in the student's head as they caught on to the lesson. She was a member of Collingwood Presbyterian Church where she taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and Elder. She left Owens Technical College when she and Chuck moved to Florida in 1984. Jackie liked to travel and had the opportunity of visiting 48 states and 42 foreign countries.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Jerry Noss; and daughter, Carole Lewandowski. She leaves behind her husband, Chuck; sister, Janet Smith; and sons, Clarke (Barbara) and Jon; as well as two granddaughters and three great-grandsons. A Celebration of Life service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 175 Lake Hollingsworth Drive, Lakeland, FL 33801, on Friday, November 14, at 12 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributing to the Fine Arts program at the church or a charity of your choice.
