James Ceglio Obituary

James "Jim" Ceglio, formerly of Toledo, passed away suddenly in his sleep, November 29th, in New Port Richey, FL, where he lived several years. Jim retired from the Lucas County Sheriff's Department after nearly 30 years. He also worked security at Busch Gardens, in Tampa, FL.
Jim was born to Ralph and Mary Ceglio (deceased), and was preceded in death by wife, Esther, and sister, Carolyn Nonoy. He is survived by brother, Charles (Patricia, of Columbus, OH); several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Winston. Jim was an avid Baltimore Orioles fan (he met former great, Boog Powell) and of course The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was a 1972 graduate of St. Francis De Sales and worked with the Varsity football program. He also attended the University of Toledo's Scott Park campus.
Per his wishes, Jim will be cremated, and there will be no services. He will be laid to rest near wife, Esther, at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park. Friends may send condolences to www.internationalcremation.com in New Port Richey.

To The Ceglio Family:
I did not know Jim personally, but because our family name is so uncommon, I read his obituary. So very sorry to learn of his sudden passing.
My father, Patrick D. Ceglio, was Jim´s uncle. Ralph was my father´s half brother.
I researched the ancestry of Ralph´s father, Joseph (Guiseppe) Ceglio, extensively & even visited his hometown in Italy. In case anyone would like to know - the name of the town is Arpaia. Arpaia is a town and comune (municipality) in the Province of Benevento, located in the Campania region of southern Italy, about 35 km northeast of Naples.

Jim and I worked together for awhile at the Toledo Zoo in Security. He was funny and friendly and we always talked about Ohio State and Mustangs. Sorry for your loss. Praying for his family.
