James Judkins Obituary
James Carleton Judkins, known to family and friends as "Jake" died on the afternoon of March 28, 2018 in Toledo, OH.
Jake was born on August 7, 1980, to Florence Victoria Judkins and Robert John Judkins of Greenfield, OH. He is survived by his loving wife, Brittney L. Judkins; his daughter, Cooper Grace Judkins, age three; both parents; his brother, John W. Judkins; sister-in-law, Danielle E. Judkins; nephews, Jack, Beckett, and Bowen; nieces, Claire and Boston; his aunt, Kandace Wilson; his uncle, Philip Wilson; great-aunt, Janet Brezius, and uncle, Boonie Brezius. Jake is also survived by his loving in-laws, Gary Cooper, Joanne Cooper, and Brooks (Leslie) Cooper.
Predeceasing Jake were his grandparents, William Henry Judkins and Janet (Judkins) Sitterle, John Winfield Millsip, Francis Millsip, and his beloved step-grandfather, Carl Sitterle (his papa).
Jake was close to his stepmother, Roxanne Kay Judkins; stepbrother, Logan Hawkins; and stepsisters, Heather Bowen and Anna Hawkins.
Jake graduated from McClain High School in 1998. He graduated from Miami University of Ohio, with a degree in Micro-Biology. He went on to receive his Master's Degree in Organ Transplant from the University of Toledo, where he served as the Director of the Organ Transplant Master's Degree Program for the University.
He was beloved by his graduate students and academic peers at the University of Toledo. Jake dedicated his life to saving lives of others by effecting organ transplant to patients in dire need of organs in Houston, TX and throughout the State of North Carolina before he became director of the Master's Program at the University of Toledo.
He was a loving father and husband who completely dedicated his life to saving others.
Jake will always be remembered in Greenfield, OH, as the kind and loving friend to all he met.
Funeral service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 3 at the First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield with Pastors Terry Washburn and Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenfield Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. Tuesday until time of the service at the church.
The Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield is serving the family.

My heart aches hearing about Jake's passing. He was a wonderful human being. I had the joy to work with him for a few years at CDS. He was one of my favorite people to work with. Jake lost his wedding ring on one of our cases and he tore through bags of trash looking for it. He adored you, Brittany. His short life touched countless people. He is in peace now. My deepest condolences.

No words can describe the heartbreak we feel for the passing of our great leader Jake. We could not have asked for a better program director this past year. You were our constant, guiding us through this program, and changing each and every one of us for the better. The world is a much sadder place without you. Your passion and commitment to helping others was the core of who you were. We are so blessed to have had this time with you. We will make you proud! Rest easy, Jake. Prayers go out to the family. To the family of Jake Judkins. I was heartbroken to hear about Jake's death. I was one of Jake's professors at the University of Toledo. He was in my class this semester and was also enrolled in our doctoral program. I am so very sorry to hear about his death. Jake was smart, witty, creative, and truly cared about helping other people. When we met, texted, and talked by phone, the topics of conversation were typically about how much he loved his wife and daughter. I will certainly miss him. I will be praying for those who he left behind.
