James Schutt Obituary
James J. Schutt, age 75, of Toledo, passed away July 22, 2017 at The Toledo Hospital. He was born December 24, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio to Virgil and Dorothy (Glime) Schutt. Jim was employed with General Motors as a Tool and Die Maker for more than 38 years, retiring in 2007.
Treasured husband of Maria Schutt; children, Lisa (Chris) Jaeger, Janet Machaterre, Michelle (Jerry) Matney, Matthew Miller and Cara (Jemael) Smith; grandchildren, Morgan, Lauren, Sidney Jaeger, Tim (Lauren) Scott, Ian Nunamaker, Lennon LaCourse, Dominic, Tyler, Savannah and the love of his life, Jaycee Smith; great-granddaughter, Laina Scott; numerous in-laws; nieces and nephews and grandnieces and nephews; traveling buddies, Ron and Dianne Grudzinski, Lyle and Jane Dauterman and Rick and Marilyn Marok; all of his bus casino friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by daughter, Kathi Schutt; and siblings, Richard and Joann; and kitty "Baby Girl."
The family will receive guests Monday, July 24, 2017 from 3-8 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900), where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. The Family will receive guests Tuesday, July 25, 2017 at 9 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo followed by the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Church in Jim's memory.
