James Edward Steele

James Edward Steele, 85, of Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully, Monday, October 17, 2022. He was born July 17, 1937 to parents George and Gayle (Snyder) Steele, who preceded him in death. Jim proudly served with the United States Air Force and was Past Commander of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary. He was also an honored Eagle Scout. Jim was a true outdoorsman who owned and operated his own business, "The Tackle Box Inc" until retiring in 2003. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, and going Up North. Jim was a long-time member of the Bayview Yacht Club where he enjoyed "coffee clutches" with the guys. He was a member of the Sylvania Moose Lodge 1579, and a 65-year member of the former Collingwood United Methodist Church.

Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lelah (Williams) Steele; daughter, Julie; brother, Ron (Judy) Steele; nephew, Todd Steele; and grandcat, Nala; and many friends and relatives.

Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Sunday, October 23rd from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. where Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 24th at 11:00 a.m. Jim will be laid to rest with Military Honors at Ravine Cemetery, Sylvania.
