James Norman



James Norman Young, age 73, of Toledo, passed away at home on Sunday, January 25, 2015. He was born on March 22, 1941, in Toledo, OH to James Edward and Ethel (Welter) Young Sr. James worked at American-Lincoln and as a cashier at Raceway Park in Toledo. He was a former parishioner of St. Hedwig Catholic Church and a popular fixture in the Historic Polish Village where he was known as the "Mayor of Lagrange St." An avid baseball fan, especially of the Cleveland Indians, he enjoyed attending their annual Spring Training sessions in Winter Haven, FL.

Survivors include his children, Michael Young of Toledo and Michele (Ed) Czerniak of Gahanna, OH; grandchildren, Sierra Martin, Joshua Young, Nicolas Young, Adison Czerniak and Macie Czerniak; great-grandchildren, Grant and Jack Martin; sisters, Judy Polzin and Sue Kelly; brothers, Jerry Young, Joey Young and Ron Davis, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Nancy Wawrzyniak and Diane Young.

Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 p.m. at Sujkowski Funeral Home Northpointe, 114 E. Alexis Rd. with the Funeral Service at 7 p.m.
