Janet Daniel Obituary

Janet Daniel

02/29/1964 - 05/17/2025

Janet Daniel, 61, born on Leap Year, February 29, 1964, from the Toledo area and formerly of Bellevue, OH, passed away on the afternoon of May 17th. She was a beloved daughter of the late Earl and Virginia Daniel. Janet impacted so many people in her time on this earth with her laughter and generous spirit. She lived by the motto "How ya living?" She had such an impact on all who got to spend time with her. The family asks that you remember how she lived vs how she left this mortal coil. After her graduation from Bellevue High School in 1982 she attended the University of Toledo. She received her BBA and then continued on to get her MBA. Janet worked at Key Bank after graduation and then found her work family at The Andersons, Inc., where she spent 24 yrs and 17 days. She was most recently a Senior Project Manager with them.

Janet is survived by her heart-broken siblings, Charles (Marianne) Daniel, Thomas (Ramona) Daniel and Dorthy (William) Baker. Janet is also survived by 8 nieces and nephews, Leisha Santilli, Brad, Theresa, and Jason Miller, Aaron, Benjamin, Eric and David Daniel. She also had 15 great-nieces and nephews, and 2 great-great-nieces and nephews. Janet had many loves in her life, but Daisy (3/23/21 gotcha date) was her favorite and most challenging as Daisy always seemed to have a different idea of their walks than Janet did. Her cats, Oscar and Lily, will also miss their Mom.

Janet enjoyed driving and going to car shows with her purple 2010 Dodge Challenger, her 1999 Plymouth Prowler with its pull-along trunk, and her plum-colored Jeep Wrangler. She took many pictures, planted so many flowers you were never sure they were all gonna fit, played cards with her Euchre Gang, and shared Dad jokes like they were really funny. Janet also excelled at passionately playing tennis so much that she even became the Club Champion several years and participated in National Tennis Tournaments at her amateur status.

Visitation will be held at Auxter-Recker Funeral Home, at 1105 Castalia St., in Bellevue, OH, from 3:00-7:00 p.m., on Thursday, May 22nd. Her funeral service will be Friday, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 428 Kilbourne St., in Bellevue, with internment at Block Cemetery, Republic, OH, with a lunch service to follow back at St. Paul's UCC. Janet lived her life in purple. The family asks that you honor her by wearing purple on Thursday and Friday even if you can't join the family for visitation or the funeral service. Memorial contributions may be made to Mad River & NKP Railroad Museum in Bellevue, St. Paul's Church of Christ in Bellevue, or to the donor's favorite humane society.

I worked with Janet from 2001 to 2005 at The Anderson“s and did a lot of traveling with her. She was very helpful and had a great personality. Sending you my condolences.

I am deeply saddened by the passing of my cousin Janet. Growing up as one of 19 cousins I have many memories of family gaterings at Christmas and Easter. While I wandered about many areas of our country as I lived my life I always carried a memory of those gatherings of family. It is difficult to reconcile the death of the youngest amongst us cousins especially since it was apparently through no fault of her own. Geogpaphical distance prevents me from attending the viewing or funeral but my thoughts are with her brothers and sister and all my other cousins as well. Regards, Gary Smoot.

I played tennis with Janet (USTA) right before she passed away on May 17th. She was an awesome player and very intimidating to play against. It was a great match, and we had a lot of fun. Janet will be greatly missed in the Toledo Tennis community.

I'm praying that God will comfort you and keep you during this difficult time.

Janet worked for me at First National Bank of Toledo (now 5/3). Was an amazing employee. Very competent and skilled, and always positive. Her work was always "top notch". Later we often "kibitzed" at Laurel Hills where we played tennis. We both "loved" challengers ... hers purple and white, mine a red convertible. My sincere condolences to her family.

Janet was such a wonderful woman. She was full of life! Us at A Walk in the Park appreciated all the small things she did for us. Like bringing in the sign and cones for the runners or having amazingly delicious baked good when she dropped Daisy off. Daisy was definitely her soul mate... we send our condolences to her family and friends

I remember Janet from Girl Scouts, school and band. She was very competitive so I am not suprised by her successes. My condolences to her surviving family - may you find love, rest and peace in Jesus Christ.
