Janet Roberta Mason

Janet Roberta Mason, 88, of Sylvania, OH, passed away Monday, May 1, 2023, at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born in Toledo, OH, October 7, 1934, to parents Lloyd and Thelma (Seiple) Bowman. She spent her childhood growing up on the family farm in Sylvania Township. She graduated from Burnham High School in 1952 and then continued her education at Bowling Green State University. After obtaining her degree, Janet began teaching and spent the majority of her career with the Washington Local School system. She married her true love, LeRoy T. Mason in June of 1956. They enjoyed many years of camping with their family and friends as members of the Coachman Toledo Good Guys camping club and members of Walden Woods . Janet was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening, but most of all valued family time and being a grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Linda (William Dec.) Post, Laura Webb, and Sheryl (Bruce) Meyer; son, LeRoy (Jessica) Mason Jr; grandchildren, Christopher, Nathan, Bethany, Megan, Andy, Jennifer, Brittany, Brad, Emi, LeRoy, Samantha, Alexis, and Tabitha; 16 great-grandchildren; and son- in-law, Marty Lawhorn. Janet was preceded in death by her parents; husband LeRoy Sr. who passed in 2010 after 54 years of marriage; daughter, Kathleen Lawhorn; grandchildren, Krystal, Lisa, and Sarah; sister, Karen Bammerlin; and brother, Michael Bowman. Friends may call at the Reeb Funeral Home, 5712 N. Main St., Sylvania, OH, Tuesday, May 9th, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm. where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 10th, at 11:00am. Janet will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, LeRoy, at Toledo Memorial Park.
