Janice Young Obituary
Janice Ann (Brown) Young, age 77, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2023, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio. She was born on September 7, 1946, to Gilbert and Martha (Mitten) Brown in Tiffin, Ohio. She graduated from St. Mary's Catholic School and Calvert High School in Tiffin in 1964. She worked at Champion Spark Plug and then Hydromatic, where she met her special friend Travis. They loved camping together.
Janice was active in many volunteering endeavors, including St. Vincent Hospital, Merit House and driving Ursuline Sisters for appointments and shopping. She enjoyed crocheting many baby afghans and donating them to newborns.
Janice is survived by her partner in crime, Travis Poore; daughters, Christina Marie and Cheryl Lee Young; granddaughter, Kirsten Nicole Sprague; great grandson, Brysen Kristopher; twin sister, Jeanne Marie Brown (Sister Janice Ann, O.S.U.); brothers, Stephen Joseph (Marilyn) Brown and James Gilbert (Doris) Brown; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Road, on Friday, December 29, from 2:00 p.m.- 8:00 p.m. with a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church. Graveside services will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Tiffin, Ohio, for the immediate family.
