Jean Ellen Carmean "Jeanie" SCULLY

Jean SCULLY Obituary

SCULLY Jean Ellen Carmean "Jeanie" Born May 18, 1927, lost a long battle with pneumonia on March 21, 2011. Jean was a lifelong member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. She was also avid fan of reading, bird watching and music. Jean was married to and preceded in death by Robert M. (Bob) Scully. They lived many years on Hogarth Road in Toledo, and most recently lived at Spring Meadows Extended Care in Holland, OH. Jean was also preceded in death by her son, Dr. Terry Scully, and is survived by her daughter, Mickey Scully (Andy) Duplay; grand children, Katie Duplay (Mark) Hileman, Kelsey Duplay, Sean Scully and Erin Scully; great grandchildren, Christian McCarthy and Spencer Hileman, and many nephews. As per their wishes, both Bob and Jeanie's bodies were donated to University of Toledo Medical College, to help in educating future generations of medical professionals. The family thanks the loving staff at Spring Meadows for their care and compassion in Jean's final years. A special thanks to Nurse Tina, who became a member of our extended family through her love for both Bob and Jean. A thanks also goes to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for their support and comfort through the stressful times. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations me made to either Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Bob and Jean's name, or to the family to help offset past expenses incurred while caring for both Bob and Jean in the home.

Bob and Jeannie were best friends. We went on vacation together, picnics, and ate ice cream and strawberries . Bob was a counselor in stressful moments. We loved to hear Jeannie sing. We will miss them.
Our sympathy is with Marialice, Andy, and Family.

My family lived across from Jean and Bob for over 40+years. Jean was especially kind and supportive of me during the time I was at home with my Dad, after my cancer surgery and recovery. I will always remember her sweet and caring way, and our last conversation.
She was a lovely warm lady.
