Jeffrey B. Wilbarger, 62, of Bowling Green, passed away peacefully at home on November 13, 2025, seven months after a stage 4 kidney cancer diagnosis.
Born in Curtice, Ohio, Jeff was known from an early age for his warmth, humor, and generous spirit. A Clay High School graduate, he studied math education at the University of Toledo-becoming the first in his family to earn a college degree-and married the love of his life, Diana, in 1985. This year would have marked their 40th anniversary.
Jeff devoted 39 years to teaching at schools across the region, most recently at Monclova Christian Academy. He had a true "teacher's heart," making learning lively and memorable, and caring deeply for every student.
He was a devoted father to Lindsey and Branden, and an adoring grandpa to Norah, Aliyah, and Joanna. His life was shaped by faith, kindness, and an ability to be fully present with everyone he met.
Jeff's service extended beyond the classroom. He volunteered at Cherry Street Mission and founded The Daughter Project, supporting victims of sex trafficking-a commitment that earned him the national Jefferson Award for public service in 2016.
He cherished life's simple joys: family time, musicals, jogs through Wildwood, and a good dessert.
He is survived by his wife, Diana Rist; children, Sam and Lindsey Melden, Branden Wilbarger; grandchildren, Norah, Aliyah, Joanna Melden; and siblings, David and Toni Wilbarger, Brenda and Scott Chambers.
Visitation will be held Friday, November 21, 2:00–7:00 p.m., at Sujkowski-Walker Funeral Home, in Rossford, with a funeral service on Saturday, November 22, at 10:30 a.m., at Bowling Green Alliance Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio or Metroparks Toledo.

I remember Jeff coming to the United Methodist Women Meeting and telling us about his starting the The Daughter Project and how devoted he was. Jeff was a great disciple of Jesus and was always willing to serve. Thank you Jeff for all you did for the girls that were trafficked. God bless you.
