Jerald PATTERSON Obituary

PATTERSON Jerald "Jerry" Lynn Jerald "Jerry" Lynn Patterson, 45 years, of Delta, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, February 17, 2011 at his residence. Jerry was born January 10, 1966 in Tiffin, Ohio the son of John William and Betty Lucille (Rau) Patterson. He was a 1985 graduate of Tiffin Columbian High School. Jerry was a Refractory's Team Member at North Star BlueScope Steel in Delta for the past 11 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting, camping and playing a round of golf when possible. Surviving are his five sisters, Carol (David) Wilcox of Delta, Mary Crouse of Maumee, Sue (Fred) Hepp of Tiffin, Nina (Juan) Martinez of Tiffin, Lucy (Dan) Ruggiero of Perrysburg; two brothers, John (Diane) Patterson of Tiffin and Donnie (Kim) Patterson of Tiffin; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Robert Patterson and brother-in-law, Bernie Crouse. Funeral services for Jerry Patterson will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at the Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, 135 North Washington Street, Tiffin, with Pastor David Proctor officiating. Interment will follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort, Ohio. Visitation for Jerry will be held two hours prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Oberlin-Turnbull Funeral Home & Crematory, 206 North Lynn Street, Bryan, Ohio. Memorial tributes in the name of Jerald Lynn Patterson may be given in his name to Hospice of Northwest Ohio, 30000 East River Road, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551. MY GENTLE GIANT
We miss you so very much. My family nick-named Jer (Gentle Giant) He was a big man with the biggest heart ever. The kindness man I ever met. We loved him and excepting him for who he was. He was family to us. He came to all my family functions and also told my mom its my birthday weres my birthday kiss and she fell for it every time. I'll miss all the times we spent fishing and playing pinball in the shop or just hanging out and talking about all our problems. You were my dearest friend and always will be. I will never forget my memories I have, I will cherish them all. My you rest in peace my friend. Someday I'll see you again my friend. My thoughts and prayers are with the patterson family.

MY GENTLE GIANT,
I have never met a man with such a big heart and so full of kindness in my life. He was one of a kind. I shared some wonderful memories with Jer. I will always remember our fishing trips and just hanging out in the shop playing pinball. Jer was family he came to all my family functions my family loved him. He was a man that loved life. I will never forget him. I will miss packing his lunch for work and sitting at the supper table and him saying everything is so good thank you so very much for dinner. Jer was always so greatful for the meals I cooked and his lunch I packed him. I enjoyed doing things for Jerry. He was a very good friend to me and to my son. I will never forget what he did for me and my son. I will miss him so much. Rest in peace my dearest friend. Till we meet again.

The memories I shared and will always cherish for Jerry.. He was a great man and husband and step father and friend that I was grateful for to share and have in my life for the years that we shared it together.. He was still my great friend.. He will be missed dearly and loved and the memories will always remain in my heart and the love I will always have for him.. He will never be forgotten.. He was a one of a kind man that anyone could never ask more for, he would do anything for you in anyway and was kind hearted..The memories I have for Jerry will always remain alive in my heart..I will always have a spot in my heart for the love and caring I have for him until one day we meet again in that beautiful place called heaven
