Jerry Reed Obituary
July 1, 1934 - January 12, 2025
Jerry Reed, beloved member of the Anthony Wayne community, passed away on January 12, 2025. He was surrounded by faith, love, and cherished memories. He dedicated 48 years of his life to the AW Schools. He began his career as district music teacher, and significantly contributed to the classic Marching Generals. Later, he became the guidance counselor, coached tennis, both the boys' and girls' teams, and taught Driver's Ed. His endless love for AW community was profound and uplifting.
The AW tennis courts were named in Jerry's honor, and in 2013 he was inducted into the AW Hall of Fame.
Jerry is preceded in death by wife, Dayle; and a son, Robert. He is survived by his sons, Chet, Randall (Beth), Chad (Megan); 11 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
Jerry and Dayle, both faithful members of Community of Christ Lutheran Church, 6517 Finzel Rd., will have a joint memorial service on March 29 at 1 p.m.

I'll always remember Mr Reed in the halls at AW between classes encouraging students to be better. He motivated me to improve my grades and join the Army. Thanks Mr Reed and rest in peace.
