Joanne Kay (Bos) Jarrell

Joanne, aged 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep February 17, 2026 after an extended illness. She was born on March 9, 1942, in Holland, Mi, to Herman and Kathryn Bos. She had one sister, Nancy Bos, who preceded her in death in1962. Joanne was a devoted wife to Don Jarrell who preceded her in death in September, 2024. She is survived by her beloved children, Marty (Barb) Jarrell and Nancy (Jim Shollenberger). She adored her grandchildren, Andrew and Stephen Jarrell, Jon (Mandy) Shollenberger, and Katie (Christian Siebenaler) and was so proud to be Gramie to her precious great-grandchildren Lily, Cal, Frankie and Rosie. Joanne was also cherished by her sister-in-law, Judy (Karl Lind), as well as beloved nieces and nephews.

Joanne was a faithful member of Emmanuel Baptist Church, Toledo, OH, and First Baptist Church of Petoskey, MI. She loved her many friends from both churches and cherished the times she was able to serve and connect with so many wonderful people. Joanne was in charge of the nursery program of Emmanuel for many years, along with leading a team of amazing women in the funeral luncheon ministry and serving in the MOPS ministry.

Joanne committed her life to her LORD and Savior, Jesus Christ, and was devoted to her family who absolutely adored her. The family grieves Joanne's passing with hearts that know she is in Heaven celebrating with loved ones who also knew the LORD and have gone before her.

Marty, Nancy, and family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the many professionals who became like family that cared so lovingly for Joanne during her extended illness: Jodie, Melissa, Zelda, Pam, Jody, Syreeta, Ana, Sa'Niyah, Lucinda and April from Home Instead; Ann from Ohio Living Hospice; the amazing caregivers at Kingston. We are so grateful for all of you. A special thank you also to Sylvania Township Fire Station #62 who assisted mom in her home on several occasions.

Our hearts are heavy with the passing of Joanne, but we know we will see her again. She will be remembered always for the loving, gracious, beautiful person that she was.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 3:00-6:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 5155 W. Sylvania Ave. The Funeral Service will take place at Emmanuel Baptist Church 4207 Laskey Rd. Toledo, on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation beginning in the church at 10:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to either Emmanuel Baptist Church or First Baptist Church of Petoskey in Joanne's memory. Thank you.
