John W Tarpy

John W. Tarpy, age 77, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022, at his home, surrounded by loving family. John fought a courageous battle with cancer for almost 4 years, never complaining, always positive and supportive of others. He was born in Toledo, OH, to the late Patrick and Bracenia Tarpy. He graduated from the University of Toledo Community and Technical College and retired from Hunter Douglas following a long career in sales. John is survived by Debbie (Seeley), his wife of 46 years. Together they shared their love of water and beaches with family and friends, whether at their family cottage, cruising, or island vacations. They loved it all. In addition to Debbie, John is survived by sons, Ryan and John Tarpy; daughter, Tonya Gosselin; brother, Pat Tarpy; niece, Jessica (Danny) Fraguela and their daughters, Alyssa and Ashley; and many wonderful friends. John was preceded in death by mother-in-law and father-in-law, Joan and Jack Seeley; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ken and Theresa Seeley.

A memorial mass will take place at Christ the King Catholic Church, 4100 Harvest Lane, Toledo, OH, Saturday, November 5, 2022. Family and friends will be received at 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, any memorial contributions can be made to The Boy Scout Troop #263 at Christ the King Catholic Church or in a random act of kindness to others.
